Family Restoration Project: Sombrero Marsh Invasive Species

Sombrero Marsh is a critical Open Space wetland habitat used by Thorne Nature Experience for educational programs. In partnership with Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, this invasive weed management project is a great opportunity for new and returning volunteers alike, as well as those with younger children.

Older children (about age 8 and up) can work alongside parents, while we will also have educators from Thorne available to provide environmental education activities for youth ages 5-10, allowing parents with younger children who usually wouldn’t be able to attend a restoration event to still participate.

This is a morning event (9:30am-1pm) and we’ll have breakfast and lunch available for volunteers to enjoy!
