Join the 2nd annual cohort of Outdoor-Leaders-in-Training (OLIT) at Thorne Nature Experience. We are inviting youth ages 12-14, interested in taking their Earth stewardship to the next level, to join us for this two-week camp. Participants will gain leadership skills, learn from environmental professionals, and enjoy the classic fun of a Thorne Summer Camp!
Our skilled instructors will lead fantastic adventures in Boulder County, including team building, hiking, and fishing. Campers will learn from local leaders in the environmental field about nature-based climate solutions, permaculture, and career pathways in the field. This cohort of leaders will mentor elementary-age campers at various Thorne Summer Camp locations. After attending this OLIT session, all campers will be eligible to become volunteer Student Teaching Assistants to support our Thorne Summer Camp instructors in later camp sessions this year and beyond.
OLIT is exclusively for campers who are 12-14 years of age. Campers should be prepared to hike up to four miles a day, be further from facilities, and be ready to embrace challenging activities and experiences.
