Extended Care: Post Camp Care Until 5:30 pm

Boulder & Lafayette – Ages 5 to 11
Longmont – Ages 6 to 11

Thorne’s Extended Care is offered each session and allows campers to spend the whole day with Thorne in a safe and fun environment. Campers participating in Extended Care spend the first portion of the day at camp, then continue their time with Thorne in the afternoon Extended Care program. Extended Care offers respite from the elements with the option of spending time indoors or outdoors. Activities are camper-driven and children may choose activities like playing games, relaxing indoors and outdoors, reading, and making crafts.

Pick up your camper any time before 5:30 pm at your chosen Extended Care location. Extended Care is limited and frequently reaches capacity, so if you need to register your child, it is best to do so in advance. Prorating is not available for Extended Care, even if you choose to utilize only a portion of it. Thorne provides a small snack for each camper; however, we encourage you to send your child some extra snacks for Extended Care as well.

Pricing

Boulder and Lafayette:
  • Sessions 1, 2, and 3: $225 per session (9-day camps for holidays)
  • Sessions 4 and 5: $250 per session
  • Session 6: $175 per session (7-day camp)
Longmont:
  • Sessions 1, 2, and 3: $188 per session (9-day camps for holidays)
  • Sessions 4 and 5: $208 per session

We do not prorate for Extended Care. When you enroll, your child is enrolled for each day of that session and for the full time block. Families may pick up early or opt out of days. but will not be eligible for a refund.

Ages

Boulder & Lafayette: 5-11 years old (Must be at least five years old by October 15, 2025)
Longmont: 6-11 years old

Hours

  • Boulder and Lafayette: 2:30 pm-5:30 pm
  • Longmont: 3 pm-5:30 pm

Locations

Boulder:

Campers from other Boulder drop-off locations are transported by school bus each day following their morning camp. Extended Care pick-up is at the North Boulder camp location Sessions 1-5 and South Boulder location Session 6. 12-14-year-old camps are not eligible for Extended Care.

Lafayette:

Campers from other Lafayette drop-off locations are transported by school bus each day following their morning camp. Pick-up is at the Coal Creek camp location Sessions 1-5 and at the Lafayette Nature Center Session 6. 12-14-year-old camps are not eligible for Extended Care.

Longmont:
